Family History Genealogy Content Specialist

- Genealogical analysis, consultation, research, instruction, and translation/transcription on records, resources, and research procedures based on a geographical area.
- Sourcing and identifying new archives for cooperation.
- Creation of data strategies, gap analysis
- analyzing content coverage, condition, and genealogical value of records in archives, societies, partners, Family History Department and online.
- Supporting and helping Field Relation Mangers with their individual negotiations.
- Finding additional resources, interpreting documents in their historical context, helping to navigate FamilySearch and partner websites, archival research etc.
- Identifying and creating record listings and work with the Family History department IT systems.
- Strong commitment to the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-days Saints (applicant must be a member with a valid Temple recommend).
- Bachelor’s degree in family/local history, languages, archival sciences or related field, 4-7 years experience of full-time professional experience in library
- or archive research.
- Proficiency in using records and resources to solve research problems involving population movement, naming practices, laws and decrees, jurisdiction changes, lack of records, etc.
- **Fluency in English is required **, and any other Western European language skills will be essential.
- Self-motivated delivery of results aligned with corporate strategy.
- Family history experience will be an advantage.
