Vice President Global Hardware Engineering

In this position you will be responsible for world-class quality and reliability of all released hardware related components and you will report into the Senior VP VS Machines.

**Tasks**
- Globally harmonize and sustainably improve hardware development capabilities in VS machines (full set of processes, methods, data organization, tools).
- Provide visionary leadership for the hardware engineering function, setting the global strategy and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Closely collaborate, manage and steer external hardware development partners.
- Keep ahead of the latest market technologies, processes, and methods and continually improve engineering efficiency.
- Drive innovation in hardware design, incorporating the latest technologies to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Lead and inspire a diverse global team of hardware engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Oversee the end-to-end hardware development lifecycle, from concept to production, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable medical devices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineering, product management, procurement, supplier engineering, QARA and other departments to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand market trends, customer needs, and technological advancements.
- Spearhead the conceptualization and implementation of groundbreaking ideas, such as the introduction of a new electronic platform, to significantly enhance the cost-effectiveness and performance of upcoming global medical product platforms.
- Drive the design and development of components that precisely deliver the functionalities outlined in development inputs, ensuring a seamless translation of conceptual ideas into tangible, high-performing elements.
- Guarantee that the designed components are not only technologically advanced but also manufacturable, scalable at the required cost, and operate with optimal efficiency, meeting both quality and economic benchmarks.
- Actively lead the execution of innovations outlined in the Research and Development roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and maintaining a proactive approach to technological advancements in the medical product landscape.

- University degree.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing global hardware engineering teams.
- Extensive experience in the development of medical devices or other highly regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of hardware design principles, embedded systems, and IoT technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Skilled in building effective teams and manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent in setting clear directions for others in times of uncertainty, change and transformation.
- Strong in mobilizing and coaching others to initiate and drive change.
- High customer and team orientation as well as strong communication skills.
