**Your mission**:
You will lead our agile and self organized artificial intelligence & machine learning team. On a day-to-day basis you will:

- Evaluate, select, fine-tune, and integrate AI/ML models for contract review and legal publishing, focusing on maximizing performance with existing models
- Develop expertise in NLP models, LLM-based solutions, and knowledge extraction from legal documents
- Collaborate closely with product managers, legal experts, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of AI
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AI advancements and evaluate emerging technologies
- Ensure that all AI projects adhere to ethical standards, regulatory requirements (EU AI Act, GDPR), and best practices in data privacy and security
- Lead a team of AI engineers and software developers in Leipzig to provide guidance, support, and a culture of collaboration and growth

**Your profile**:

- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in AI/ML model development (NLP is a plus)
- Strong expertise in Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- Experience in leading teams and managing technical products
- Deep understanding of AI model lifecycle, including data preprocessing, model fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment.
- Hands-on experience with vector databases, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and LLM fine-tuning
- Knowledge of MLOps, model monitoring, and continuous deployment
- Experience with cloud-based AI solutions (AWS, Azure)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to building AI-driven products
- Fluent in English, and ideally German
- Based in Leipzig
- Quick learner with the courage and creativity to tackle complex challenges with the ability to work independently
- Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills and a flexible mindset
