**What you'll do**

PlusOne Infrastructure Engineering is the team behind the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform SAP Converged Cloud. We are running in 15 SAP owned data centers distributed world-wide. By augmenting an opinionated OpenStack distribution with bespoke services, we are meeting the demand of SAP’s cloud business. Our roadmap includes transforming SAP Converged Cloud into a public cloud offering and expanding its capabilities with new services to support SAP Business AI and SAP BTP.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join the GCID PlusOne Infrastructure Engineering team. As part of this role, you will be responsible for building the technology foundation of SAPs IaaS platform, working with exciting projects within the PlusOne Converged Cloud user base. This internal and external customer-facing position is a hands-on technical role spanning across design, build, and operations with a focus on issue resolution to remove customer technical obstacles and adoption challenges. You will leverage your problem-solving expertise to help customers to realize their objectives and improve the PlusOne Infrastructure.

You will be responsible for:

- **
Infrastructure Architecture Design and Deployment** - engineering the foundation for PlusOne across the infrastructure stack, aligning with customer business objectives and technical requirements
- ** Blueprints and Whitepapers Authorship**: Document and share the exceptional architectural work you perform, contributing to our Documentation and knowledge base
- ** Elevating Customer Satisfaction**:Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and business lines. Represent the Customer's perspective, sharing insights and best practices, and collaborating with our Engineering teams to resolve challenges
- ** Customer/Partner Insights**: Deliver valuable feedback and insights from customers and business lines to the Engineering teams, promoting continuous service improvement and innovation

**What you bring**

We are looking for an innovative, communicative, and self-driven individual with strong technical competence. Your expertise in creating blueprints following infrastructure design concepts is highly valued.
- Degree in Applied Sciences. Preferred field of study: Computer Science or related field. 10+ years of relevant experience in cloud/infrastructure technologies
- Systematic Approach to Complex Challenges: Demonstrate the ability to systematically tackle complex issues, maintaining a strong sense of ownership and motivation
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively manage critical situations through presentations
- A deep understanding of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and data center services, with proficiency in systems integration to ensure seamless operation within the existing infrastructure
- In-depth knowledge of the entire cloud computing stack, including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack, and knowledge of virtualization technologies for hardware optimization
- Experience in evaluating hardware and software, engaging with vendors, coordinating proof of concepts, and preparing decision documents for senior management
- Deep Knowledge of Linux, open-source hypervisors, network equipment or storage systems would be a big advantage
- Experience with Capacity Planning and mapping to infrastructure would be a big advantage
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent analytical skills and conceptual thinking
- A high degree of personal maturity, goal orientation, and the ability to work effectively in a geographically distributed team of highly technical design architects
