What we do
Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through Publicly Funded Research Projects as well as B2B solutions. We work across several domains including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, and transform businesses as an external machine learning department using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.
Your role
**Your main responsibilities will be**:
- Ideate solutions to complex industry spanning problems with early career-stage researchers and developers.
- Work across several projects and interact with partners to develop new machine learning solutions establishing industry standards.
- Research and prototype state-of-the-art deep-learning models combined with a keen sense of data-driven development.
- Uncover scalable, machine-learning enabled business opportunities within research projects.
- Understand requirements of code standards for research partners and deliver at excellence.
**Profile**:
- and deep-learning technologies. In addition, you should also have relevant experience in at least one of the following technologies: CV, NLP, GNNs, reinforcement learning, causal inference.
**You are a great fit for our team if this describes you**:
- PhD or 4+ years of working experience in Machine Learning or related technical field
- Relevant programming skills in Python as well as sound data engineering practices and cloud computing experience.
- Relevant knowledge of deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, Jax, etc.
- Relevant experience in leading and prioritizing technical and/or research projects.
- You understand the tradeoffs of fast coding to generate insights and sound engineering practices (version control, test-driven development, code reviews), leveraging the best of both worlds.
- Enjoy working with and mentoring early career-stage engineers and researchers.
- Fluency in English and basic German
**Nice to have**:
- Publications in established high impact journal/conference in the respective field of study
- Experience with one or more of the following cloud providers: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure
- Experience working with partners of large public research consortia as funded by the BMWK, BMBF or EU
