Are you passionate about sound and physics-based simulations? Join us as a research associate and lead cutting-edge research into the synthesis of virtual urban acoustics for urban design assessment. This is your chance to work at the forefront of computational modeling and simulation. The Acoustics Department researches in the areas of Building Acoustics, Digital and sustainable Acoustics, Noise Control and Vehicle Acoustics, Human-Centered Acoustic Design and User Research, Musical and Photo Acoustics, Urban and Architectural Acoustics. Become part of the newly established research group "Urban and Architectural Acoustics" at the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics in Stuttgart **What you will do** - You develop efficient approaches to simulating complex urban sound environments. - You achieve plausible auralizations of urban sound simulations. - By linking your developments with those of other employees and projects, you contribute to the activities of the research group. **What you bring to the table** - Completed university degree (Master) in electrical engineering with a focus on computer science or a similar or comparable degree - Expertise in CAD, 3D modeling - Basics of acoustics - Good knowledge of Python, C/C++ and MATLAB for computer science **What you can expect** - You work with first-class researchers in a lively, interdisciplinary environment. - You develop high-precision models and accelerate the digitization of urban spaces. - You receive comprehensive guidance when working on your doctoral thesis. The employment is initially limited to three years Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
