This role is a strategic leadership position within the Global Market Access (GMA) team that will oversee and accountable for the DACH region market access, pricing and reimbursement strategies for the Novavax vaccine pipeline and will report to the VP of Global Market Access. This role provides strategic market access leadership, expertly representing market access within other global strategy teams, building strong relationships and effective collaboration. In doing so, this role will help to shape key strategic decisions, such as but not limited to tendering and direct purchase strategies, Clinical Development and Integrated Evidence Generation Plans, to ensure that strategic plans fully meet the needs of market access in key countries. This role will take the lead in development of value propositions and deliver timely, optimal reimbursement in a highly challenging environment across diverse regions with complex and differing needs. Additionally, this role will be based in the DACH region.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of the payer value generation and tender and/or direct purchase strategies, working in concert with marketing, government/policy and medical affairs experts dependent on solution to create holistic strategies.
- Map external payer and funder environment and communicate to internal stakeholders and senior management relevant information regarding the current and future reimbursement landscape of key markets.
- Responsible for evaluating threats and opportunities in key markets rising out of legislation, policies and regulation from WHO, MOH/government and/or private payers as well as competitive market access moves that can impact access of Novavax' products and pipeline and proactively develop strategies and plans to address the evolving reimbursement environment.
- Deliver evidence planning to expand reimbursement to adjacent patient segments and new markets.
- Guide core teams to ensure decisions to generate clinical and Real-World Evidence are taken early enough to support reimbursement and market adoption.
- Be responsible for integrating pricing, payer research, health economic and epidemiology information to develop the optimal value strategy.
- Champion real-world evidence generation and peer reviewed publication strategy to support and enhance clinical data.
- Support Areas/Affiliates in addressing market access, price and reimbursement challenges.

**Minimum requirements**:

- Requires Bachelor’s degree
- A Masters’ Degree in a relevant discipling is preferred (e.g. Ph.D., Pharm D, MD, or M.Sc. in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health or Health Policy).
- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry (global, regional or operating company level) with a focus in Epidemiology, Health Economics, Payer Access is required.
- Experience also working in the vaccine industry is preferred.
- Understanding and/or experience of the reimbursement environment for key international markets is required.
- Deep understanding of Health Economics, meta-analyses, retrospective and prospective data generation activities, clinical trial methodologies, relative effectiveness and all other ingredients of an optimal value proposition and professional HTA or price & reimbursement submissions are required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to successfully work across functional and geographic boundaries, preferably across multiple countries/market types/access models, is required.
- Deep appreciation of science and ability to translate scientific information into strategy is required.
- An ability to manage multiple demands and priorities on time, influence without authority, gain alignment and drive decision making is required.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong track record of producing results in a matrix-based environment are required.
- Strong business acumen with ability to think strategically is required.
- ** Travel**: Approximately 40-50 % of the time
