At the German Sport University Cologne, in the Institute of Movement Therapy and Movement-Oriented Prevention and Rehabilitation, Department 1, a position as

**Research Associate (M/F/d)**

is to be filled full-time with a regular weekly working time of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes, starting from April 1, 2025.

**Your tasks**:

- Support in the establishment of a Mobile Brain and Body Imaging Lab
- Development of movement experiments using EEG and/or fNIRS in combination with
biomechanical measurement techniques (e.g., EMG, 3D Kinematics, Posturegraphy) in Lab Streaming Layer
- Development of evaluation routines
- Statistical analysis of complex datasets
- Participation in the preparation of research proposals
- Publication of research results
- Supervision of thesis projects (Bachelor's and Master's theses) and conducting examsParticipation in the self-administration of the institute

**Required qualifications**:

- Completed university degree (Diploma or Master's) in sports science or a related field
- Relevant expertise in the field, particularly in the design and implementation of research projects using Mobile Brain and Body ImagingExperience in publishing research results, e.g., publications in scientific journals

**Desired qualifications**:

- High expertise in scientific work
- Strong interest in research activities and independence in scientific work
- Experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding (e.g., EU, Erasmus+, DFG, or BMBF projects)
- Experience in university teaching
- Team spirit, flexibility, and resilienceStrong initiative and a high level of commitment

If the personal and tariff-related requirements are met, the position will be classified up to pay group 13 TV-L. More detailed information about salary can be found here. The salary level will be determined based on personal professional experience.

The position comes with a teaching obligation of 4 SWS/F 1 according to the teaching obligation regulation of NRW.

Positions can generally also be filled part-time, unless there are compelling official reasons against it.
