Surety Program Officer

**Duties**:
- Serves as 2nd Theater Signal Brigade's Program Manager and primary point of contact for the Nuclear Surety, Nuclear Command, Control, Communications and Organization Inspection Programs.
- Provides leadership, planning and direction to ensure an active and dynamic inspection program of the Brigade's Nuclear Surety, NC3 and Organization Inspections.
- Ensures compliance with the regulatory requirements impacting safety, security and personnel reliability/suitability.
- Performs roles as Program Manager, Trainer, and Surety Inspector.
- Conducts periodic or special inspections, investigations or inquires related to the Army Nuclear Surety Programs, NC3 and OIP.
- Provides program oversight to include planning, direction and evaluation to assure an active nuclear surety, NC3 and OIP program.
- Oversees controls, procedures and actions contributing to and ensuring the safety, security and reliability of nuclear surety material.

**Conditions of Employment**:
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a no-fee United States Passport.
- Accomplishment of duties involves travel for up to 40% of the time. Trips are frequently for prolonged periods of time i.e., an average of one week.
- Incumbent is required to utilize designated mode of transportation in traveling from one place to another for TDY.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Position may be designated Emergency Essential (E-E) in support of mobilization and wartime mission.
- If designated E-E, employee will be required to remain in the overseas position in the event of hostilities or mobilization until relieved by proper authority.
- E-E employees are required to undergo nuclear-biological and chemical training and to participate in readiness tests, mobilizations, alerts and field training exercises.
- Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployed location.
- Prior to appointment to the position, employee will sign a statement agreeing to the E-E condition of employment.
- This is a Drug Testing Designated Position. This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass urinalysis testing, as required, prior to appointment, reassignment or transfer and periodically thereafter.
