Asklepios BioPharmaceutical, Inc. (AskBio) is a leading, clinical-stage gene therapy company founded in 2001 based on the work of adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy visionary and pioneer, Jude Samulski, PhD. Since that time, our commitment to developing life-saving medicines that can potentially cure genetic diseases has never wavered.

At AskBio, we’ve built a foundation of therapeutic programs, AAV manufacturing and a rich portfolio of patented technology. Our therapeutic focus includes neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases with clinical trials underway for Pompe disease, Parkinson’s disease, and congestive heart failure. Our gene therapy platform includes Pro10, an industry-leading proprietary cell line manufacturing process, and an extensive AAV capsid and promoter library.

We became a wholly-owned, independently operated, subsidiary of Bayer AG in late 2020 as a cornerstone of its newly formed Cell & Gene Therapy (CGT) platform. Our global headquarters is in Research Triangle Park, NC. Additionally, we have significant operations in Philadelphia, PA, Columbus, OH, Scotland, France, and Spain.

The Research Associate I, R&D at AskBio GmbH will be one of the key laboratory members who will have an opportunity to learn and contribute to the build-out of a new laboratory. This is a technical role with some administrative duties to be completed on a daily basis.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Knowledge of cell culture and preferable AAV production
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Documentation upkeep and creation
- Administrative duties, including, but not limited to stock procurement, purchase orders, stock inventory
- and accepting deliveries
- Refer to established standard operating procedures and policies
- Working under general direction and where required, supervision
- Participates in determining objectives of assignment
- Plan schedules and manage activities in a timely fashion to accomplish objectives
- Regular work reviews shall be completed to ensure objectives are met
- Contribute to drafting the reports and presentations for technical discussions

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Virology or a related field or education as technician.
- English and German written and verbal communication.
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and processing/handling of primary cells.

Preferred Experience and Skills
- Possess basic office skills using a PC and working with MS office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Self-motivated, organized, individual capable of working independently as well as a team contributor.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with teams, internally and externally.is required.
- Demonstrated experience in the aseptic handling of cell cultures or in the processing of clinical samples.
