The incumbent may be required to travel approximately 3-4 times per year for a total of 10-20 days. Travels will be within Germany and internationally to support with meetings, trainings, research, site visits or similar.

**Duties**:
The Agricultural Assistant (senior level) is responsible for representing the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) in Germany. Responsibilities include preparing commodity reports involving data collection and analysis of agricultural trade and production statistics, identifying and resolving trade problems, managing budgets for activities, and performing administrative tasks. The incumbent maintains professional and social relationships with particular groups (working level, mid-level, and maybe high levels) - technical and policy level government officials, industry representatives, international organization, trade associations, and research institutes to exchange information and gain cooperation on substantive trade and agricultural matters.

**Qualifications and Evaluations**:

- Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience required in one or more fields of agricultural economics, commodity trade, program/budget management, and marketing analysis/research that includes analysis and report writing.
- Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science or equivalent is required.
- Evaluations:
Position requires fluent language skills in English (reading/writing/speaking).
Position requires fluent language skills in German (reading/writing/speaking).
