**Your mission**:
GotPhoto is looking for an enthusiastic **(Junior) Accountant to join our Accounting & Taxes Team in Berlin** to support the financial integrity and efficiency of the organization by accurately **maintaining and analyzing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely and precise reporting.**

**This is a hybrid position**:you must be located in or around Berlin and be able to commute to our office 1-2 times/week.

**Responsibilities**:

- ** Accounting and Financial Management**: You support our departments with GotPhoto Back Office functions, including credits, refunds, and payments. You monitor payment transactions and understand technical integration.
- ** SQL and Reconciliations**: You write and utilize SQL queries for reconciliations and various tasks. You proactively address and escalate Finance Operations issues as needed.
- ** Month/Year End Closings**: You assist our Senior Accountants with Month End and Year End Closings by gaining expertise in Group Accounting and reconciliations.
- ** Day-to-Day Tasks**: You manage incoming invoices, use expense tools, handle pre-accounting, reconciliations, and resolve issues with interfaces and ports.
- ** Collaboration and Support**: You engage in cross-functional projects involving tech, payment, and accounting teams. Mentor new hires on pre-accounting processes.

**We are looking for**:

- ** Educational Background**: You have a formal Training as “Tax Accountant” /“Accountant” or Bachelor in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- ** Experience & Skills**: You have 1-3 years in accounting with knowledge of German principles. You are proficient in Datev, Spendesk, and entry-level SQL or Metabase.
- ** Tax Knowledge**: You have a basic understanding of European VAT schemes and experience with tax return preparation.
- ** Problem-Solving & Communication**: You have strong problem-solving skills, proactive issue resolution, and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
- ** Core Competencies**: You have attention to detail, strategic thinking, collaboration, and awareness of compliance and regulatory standards.
- ** Languages**:You’re fluent in both written and spoken German and English.
