Motor Vehicle Operator Na-08

**Duties**:

- Employee receives instructions from the supervisor or dispatcher as to the type of vehicle to be operated, destination, purpose, deadline, and work to be done.
- Operates a motor coach to transport large groups of people on trips where day and night driving are involved.
- Operates truck tractors with semi and full trailers or straight in-line trucks typically having a gross vehicle weight of more than 32,000 pounds on in all types of traffic conditions.
- Knowledge of height, weight, width, and length of vehicle in order to judge overhead and side clearances, turning radius and braking distance
- The operator receives instructions from the supervisor or dispatcher as to the type of vehicle to be operated, destination, purpose, deadline, and work to be done.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Possesses satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-13, to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- This position may require a health screening. Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility.
- Moderate physical effort is required in handling objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally heavier objects with the assistance of others or weight handling equipment.
- Drives outside in all kinds of weather in all types of traffic at highway speeds over complicated road and interchange systems
- Exposed to dirt and fumes, and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
- Subject to a random drug test that occurs without suspicion that a particular individual is using illegal drugs
- Required to possess/maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)

**Qualifications**:
1. Experience and training that equip the applicant with knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position consistent with accepted practices of the trade.
2. Ability to use and maintain appropriate tools, equipment and applicable vehicles based on gross weight (32,000 pounds)
4. Required to possess/maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

**PCS Costs**
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move are not in the Government's interest.

**FWS Allowances and Differentials**
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.

- Allowances, differentials, or incentives will not be paid.
