Risk Associate

**About the opportunity**:
Are you ready for your next career step? N26 is looking for a Risk Associate (intern) to further develop the risk controlling function at a cutting-edge technology-driven bank, establishing risk management and controlling tools, developing risk models as well as implementing latest regulations, and taking a key role in assessing, controlling and reporting treasury risks.

**In this role, you will**:

- Support the further development of N26 risk controlling in order to accommodate N26 growth and risk leadership aspirations
- Support in the development and validation of methods and models for quantification and stresstesting of the relevant risks using mathematical-statistical methods
- Support running and improving the risk management of the treasury and investment management business at N26 group (incl. market/credit risk and VaR calculation, risk appetite, risk policies and decision making frameworks, limit setting and monitoring, internal controls)
- Help to further develop risk reporting at N26 group and continuously generate insights to support steering in accordance with the risk and business strategies
- Contribute to the build up of an effective database from internal data sources for automating and improving monitoring and reporting
- Support the implementation and adherence to regulatory requirements for risk controlling (e.g. MaRisk, ICAAP guidelines, EBA guidelines)

**What you need to be successful**:
Background:

- Major in business/economics/finance/mathematics or similar with a strong interest in quantitative and finance / risk topics
- Tools and programming languages: MS Excel, SQL, Python, VBA
- Knowledge or first experience in risk management is a plus

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical and statistical skill set
- You have previous experience working with MS Excel
- Profound programming skills in VBA, python or similar are a strong plus
- You want to learn more about regulatory and legal requirements for a bank
- An autonomous attitude and a 'get things done' approach
- Hands-on approach and eagerness to tackle new topics while demonstrating a quick grasp in conceptual project work and strategic thinking
- You like working with data and numbers but are also willing to contribute to qualitative tasks
- Fluent in English and German
