Multiple years of programming experience in a Linux environment

- and long-term future. We are looking for a tech lead who builds test tools and services today. We also expect this tech lead to help our team shape the future of testing in EC2 and the future of our team. Key job responsibilities You define the technical roadmap for our testing automation and influence the development team to execute on it. You create and review software designs and prototypes. As you develop software to implement new functionality and address operational problems, you raise the quality bar on code quality and stability. You review code of your peers. You advise and mentor other engineers and help them grow in their careers. As a senior engineer you take part in the team's hiring process. You improve the team's processes and operations to help it deliver. This position involves on-call responsibilities. We don’t like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our test systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause so that we don’t get paged for the same issue twice. About the team EC2 is the foundation of Amazon’s cloud business AWS. - Experience in building, maintaining, automating and monitoring the infrastructure required for a software system
- The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with tech leadership in a software development team
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies
