This position will join the video production team within the Abiomed Corporate communications EMEA department in Aachen. The individual will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of the Aachen studio and EU remote productions to ensure quality, consistency, and program success. He or she will work closely with the US-based Operations Manager and Studio Lead as well as the Aachen-based Senior Producer. He or she will assist in planning, developing, and executing webcasts, meetings, studio and virtual events. This person will also operate, maintain, and train other users to be proficient with the entire suite of production, post-production, and distribution solutions utilized by the video department. **Primary Duties and Responsibilities**: - Manage production teams in the studio control room, including organizing crews and coordinating content with producers & other key Abiomed stakeholders - Responsible for operating production equipment during live webcasts and recordings; to include Blackmagic ATEM video switchers, cameras, and peripheral equipment. Also, the VMix IP-based production platform, digital audio consoles, lighting consoles, and other associated production systems - Take a lead role in executing technical and aesthetic guidelines for studio-based and virtual productions, including webinars, live surgical content, and remote lectures that may occur early mornings, evenings, or weekends - Consult other departmens in technical questions and requirements for live and recorded video and training productions. - Maintain the condition of the studio, maintain remote equipment, ensure completion of cyclical tasks and ensure the cleanliness and readiness of all studio and production workspaces - Must be comfortable collaborating with Abiomed executives, communications team partners, as well as external physicians with a focus on utilizing resources to further the Patients First mission of Abiomed. **Job Qualifications**: - Experience directing live multi-camera broadcast or webcast programming strongly preferred - Must demonstrate an understand of basic video and audio signal flow, basic networking, video resolutions, frame rates, cables, codecs, RTMP streaming, and connector types - Proficiency in the use of Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere and Audition; proficiency in After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred - Competency operating Blackmagic ATEM-based switchers, routers, cameras and engineering systems - Calm decision-making and communication in high-pressure live production environments - Strong organizational skills, with the ability to field various requests on any given day - Comfortable working on the front lines with the company’s top executives - Understands company processes, and accurately follows policies and procedures - A willingness to travel, approximately 25% of the time - BS in video production, film production, or related communications field **We offer**: - Pleasant, open corporate culture with a strong mission: "Recovering Hearts, Saving Lives" - Comprehensive induction program with structured onboarding plan throughout the orientation phase - Company pension allowance of up to 1,500 euros per year and capital-forming benefits - Benefit packages for occupational disability insurance and company group accident insurance - Full cost coverage for a job ticket in the Aachen or Berlin area - Various health programs and a leasing option for a job bike ABIOMED is an equal opportunity employer.
