**We're hiring for a Research Scientist/Breeder position.**

As a Research Scientist/Breeder** **you will be responsible for planning and conducting a comprehensive and technology-driven silage maize breeding program for the 75-80 maturity in the Northern Europe market located in Greven, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
**You Will Be Part of Growing Team**
Technical abilities need to be supported with strong communication, team building and leadership skills.
**Your Challenge**:
- improve the early germplasm base for critical traits related to agronomic stability and disease tolerance which requires experience and extensive knowledge of valuable germplasm sources and approaches to maximize genetic gain on multiple traits.
- support to zonal activities including but not limited to providing technical support of commercial and advanced stage hybrids and in advancing and positioning hybrids in precommercial evaluation and advancement.
**Key Stakeholders and Interactions**:
- Scientists in early RM breeding zone on global level to collaborate on breeding activities and exchange on breeding methodologies and germplasm
- External partnership like universities with direct plant breeding focus on related areas for technical exchanges
- Business Unit product managers and sales managers in Northern Europe to provide technical expertise on hybrids in the marketplace and in the later stages of development

**Qualifications**:** To Grow What Matters, You Will Need**
- PHD in plant breeding + plus 3-5 years of breeding experience
- plant breeding knowledge of quantitative genetics
- ability to understand markets and interpret market needs 1
