Social Worker

**Duties**:
- Manage the provision of a full range of prevention, community education, direct services, and liaison with other Family Advocacy Program agencies and services.
- Carry out program management responsibility for a Family Advocacy Program ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meeting customer needs.
- Recommend and take action to effect removal and protection of family members from the abusers.
- Plan and execute community-wide prevention education campaigns for special emphasis initiatives.
- Provide evaluation and develop work performance standards of subordinates.
- Manage a child abuse/neglect and domestic violence prevention and education program.
- Coordinate social work services and provide referrals to other programs and services to include a Military Treatment Facility, Child Protective Services, chaplains, state and local social services agencies, and other military and medical personnel.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position has specific initial background investigation and periodic re-verification requirements since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age on a recurring basis.
- Background/records checks, IAW DoDI 1402.05, AR 608-18 (MPs - NCIC, ASAP, ACR State Child Protective Services) and Army Directive 2014-23, IMCOM G9 Memorandum, dated 26 June 2015 directing a CNACI, are required for this position.
- This position may require you to work planned and/or unscheduled overtime to meet work requirements.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel approximately 10% of the time away from your permanent duty station.
- This position requires a valid, state-issued and USAREUR Driver's License and must be insurable in order to travel to other locations in the Command's structure.

**Basic Requirements for Social Worker (Family Advocacy)**:
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; Psychology; Marriage, Family and child counseling; Counseling; Public administration or public health. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcript).
- In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
- Specialized experience: one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level which includes: in a family advocacy environment performing Social Work in spouse and child abuse prevention, community education, direct services and liaison with other installation services, state and local services for a family advocacy program; assessing and analyzing incidents of in the field of domestic violence and/or child abuse neglect; and performing crisis intervention services.
- In addition, to the above experience. Minimum of 5 years of postgraduate experience in community organization or management. At least 2 of the last 5 years in programs dealing with Family violence issues.
- This position requires 2 years of experience working in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse.
- Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

- This is a Career Program (CP) 53 - Medical position.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
