Immunology - Immune Mediated Diseases
Full-time and permanent

Your key responsibilities:
- Identify and implement novel concepts for patient stratification based on a thorough understanding of the underlying immune mediated disease mechanisms
- Analyse and interpret results from large-scale transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics data in light of a thorough understanding of the underlying immune-mediated disease mechanisms
- Work closely with computational biologists and machine-learning specialists to develop novel concepts for patient stratification in the areas of kidney, metabolic, immune-mediated and infectious diseases
- Lead internal collaborations across sites to establish innovative technology platforms and models enabling development of novel diagnostic approaches.
- Drive patient cohort studies as a project leader
- Identify, propose, and drive novel biomarkers into the portfolio.
- Seek, evaluate and establish collaborations with academia and clinicians, identifying funding opportunities
- Research scientific literature and attend scientific conferences and workshops to provide an in-house expertise on recent advances in immunology as it pertains to immune mediated diseases
- Present comprehensive overviews of data and results in the context of human systems biology internally at Evotec and exernally
Your ideal qualifications:
- BSc / MSc / PhD or equivalent degree in immunology, biology, biochemistry or another relevant field with a focus on immunology
- Depending on the degree, several years of postdoc or industry experience in research of the immune system and disease, preferably with a background from the diagnostics, pharmaceutical or biotech industry
- Good understanding of omics technologies and associated data analytics in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and potentially metabolomics
- Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing stakeholders across departments
- Expertise in developing and implementing communication strategies to establish external collaborations with academic and industry partners is of advantage
- Know-how in scientific contract writing
- High energy and personal dynamism as well as the competency to significantly contribute to important research projects
- High degree of innovation and flexibility, with the ability to deliver results under challenging timelines
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, collaborators, and customers
- Fluency in English is required
