**Job Description**:
The focus of this position is to enhance mobility service and services platforms by blockchain-based identities, called self-sovereign identities, and controlled data exchange.
Recent initiatives towarsds Web 3.0 from EU and German Governments, also under the Gaia-X initiative, aim for an open ecosystem of services and data, where users can control their identities and data in a self-sovereign way. While current, federated identity solutions rely on a specific identity provider, these blockchain based solutions are open and can be used without this provider. The main goal is to design and to evaluate novel services and service infrastructure in cooperation with leading research and technology partners in Germany, in a partly funded R&D project.
The main objectives are:
- Conduct research that is related to vehicle services and data exchange using latest Web 3.0 for self-sovereign identities and blockchain-based technology.
- Contribute to the project with demonstrators and evaluation as in collaboration with the project partners.
- Collaborate and coordinate research activities with partners in academia and industry in Europe and Japan
- Assist in project management and administrative tasks when occasionally assigned by the project manager.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, data science, or related disciplines.
- Highly motivated and keen on working in an international and interdisciplinary team.
- Research background in the following fields (ideally demonstrated by scientific publications) are preferred:
- distributed systems and Web 3.0
- Blockchain technologies for mobility solutions
- Software engineering for cloud and edge computing
- Connected vehicle technologies such as networking.
- Programming skills in at least one programming language, e.g. Java or Python.
- Fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of German is not required but preferred.
