The Senior GL Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close, audits and all compliance work for the Cepheid German entity. The role provides learning, projects and growth opportunities in the organization.
This position is part of the EMEA Accounting Team and will be located remotely. At Cepheid, our vision is to be the leading provider of seamlessly connected diagnostic solutions.
**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:
Prepare journal entries and reconciliation
Support the monthly close in accordance with US GAAP while ensuring proper maintenance of statutory financials. This includes interfacing with corporate accounting, external accounting firms and external auditors.
Support the external provider with the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT and Tax returns and completion of SOX and External Audits
Prepare flux analysis and comment on variances
Support the EMEA Finance strategy of operational excellence and continuous process improvement
All tasks must be strictly performed within the International, Corporate and legal deadlines.
**The essential requirements of the job include**:
Professional Qualifications or Degree in accounting field
Fluent in German and English
Knowledge of German Accounting
Experience in SAP ERP
At least 5 years of related work experience
**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:
Audit firm experience
Knowledge of US GAAP
International experience
