**Duties**:
- Serves as a therapeutic consultant by attending medical rounds and conferences with the physicians to provide information used in evaluation and implementation of optimal medication plans for inpatients and outpatients.
- Initiates orders for selected drug therapies and diagnostic tests according to established protocols and within the parameters of approved clinical privileges.
- Administers medications according to provider’s guidance and pre-established protocols.
- Counsels patients on the use and proper method of administration of medications, side effects, precautions, and other general information prior to discharge.
- Establishes and maintains a comprehensive pharmaceutical dosing service. Develops individual dosing regimens based upon pharmacokinetics of drugs employed, disease states, and medication history of the patient.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires the incumbent to successfully complete and maintain credentialing and privileging requirements.
- This position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association (AHA).
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Shifts may be rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 25% of the time away from your permanent duty station.

**Basic Requirement for Pharmacist**:
**Education**: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
**Exemption**: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.
**Licensure**:A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
**Medical Requirement**: Must be able to distinguish basic colors.
**Experience**: One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes: dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing Pharmacy functions such as developing pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutic regimes in a Medical facility.

- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
- If an employee brings a child to an overseas location and that child is entitled to attend a DoD school on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, the DoDEA and the Military Department responsible for providing related services will ensure that the child, if eligible for special education, receives a free appropriate public education, including related services pursuant to DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.
- Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
