**The Role**:
We are looking for a passionate product designer with excellent visual design experience to help us grow and maintain our design system and support our product design team with building high fidelity prototypes.

You will join our growing product design department and collaborate closely with other designers, product managers, developers and business stakeholders to ensure that our product stays simple, accessible and usable as we scale.

We need someone who approaches design challenges with creativity, curiosity and a strong eye for brand consistency.

You understand the importance of a design system as an enabler for designing and building products at scale.

You want to work on continuous improvements of the Design System together with a team of designers and developers.

As our target users are largely developers, database administrators or otherwise technically oriented, you are also expected to be tech-savvy and be comfortable diving into technical topics.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Distill simplicity from complex user requirements and configuration options available in the open source technologies we use.
- Build low fidelity wireframes to visualize ideas and find consensus on solutions
- Extend and maintain our Design System - design components, design assets and documentation
- Participate in discovery and research activities to understand the user's needs and iterate on potential solutions.
- Review and feedback design work from your fellow designers and collaborate closely with them to ensure consistency in our overall product user experience.
- Build your knowledge on Aiven platform and it's services progressively by working closely with both backend and frontend engineers.
- Keep up to date with competitor products and perform UX benchmarking on a regular basis.

**Skills we are looking for**:

- Expert level skills in Figma - our main design tool
- Strong visual design and illustrations skills
- Expert in creating mockups and high fidelity interactive prototypes
- Knowledge of using and developing design systems
- Ability to create practical solutions for complex technical system configurations
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Clear, effective communication and presentation skills to articulate your findings and design decisions
- An excellent understanding of HTML/CSS and frontend technologies helps you to communicate efficiently with our design system development team
- Experience in designing for highly technical products including cloud computing, access management or developer tools
- Strong proficiency in English language as it is our main working language.
