The automotive industry is currently undergoing radical change. In addition to the development of highly complex vehicle systems, the focus is increasingly on new technologies such as electromobility and the associated data analysis methods in order to develop vehicles with the lowest possible CO2 emissions and optimized resources. The collection, processing and exploration of vehicle-related measurement and environmental data are a central component of this in order to identify innovative findings and potential for improvement during the ongoing development process with the help of status reports and to introduce technological solutions.
In the Data Analytics and Fleet Validation department at IAV GmbH, large volumes of vehicle data are pre-processed and analyzed on a daily basis using (partially) automated data engineering processes in order to provide relevant information with the help of status reports. As part of this thesis, a concept with subsequent prototypes for continuous report provision is to be realized, which make it possible to carry out automatic tests during the entire development process and also ensure the compatibility of the existing code (artifacts) with regard to the generability of the status reports (e.g. due to impairments of manual or outdated code commits). Problems can be observed and dealt with at an early stage thanks to the proactive approach.
Your Tasks:
- Familiarization with the development of automated status reports
- Concept development for the use of DevOPs methods in the existing
- development process of the reporting system
- Prototypical realization and evaluation of the concept in practice
Necessary Skills:
- Computer science studies or related natural science studies
- Good knowledge of data engineering/DevOP methods (pipelines/ETL)
- Practical experience in programming with Python and Java
Desired Skills:
Strong analytical thinking skills
Independent, solution-oriented way of working and high level of commitment
High degree of personal responsibility
Natural handling of common EDP (MS-Office etc.)
Remuneration is based on our collective wage and salary agreement. The current hourly rate for this position is EUR 17.52. From February 2025, the hourly rate for this position will be EUR 18.10.
