Network Administrator

This is a hands-on role to manage and improve the customer's network infrastructure. The network footprint consist in a large number of Cisco switches, and multi-vendor firewalls. Beside the day-to-day operational tasks (incl. troubleshooting), there are periodic improvement projects, aimed to introduce new functionality, optimize existing filtering logic, or migrating to new platforms.

In accordance with project requirements, **applicants** **must hold** **EU or German citizenship**.

Activities
- Processing of problems, operation orders and changes
- Responsible for the implementation of relevant network changes, including hardware software upgrades, integrations, configuration logic updates, firewall rules clean-up etc.
- Set up and evaluation of network traces (part of troubleshooting processes)
- Improving the network infrastructure monitoring
- Control of manufacturers in case of complex failures
- Conceptual design and documentation in the context of in IT network projects
- Creation and maintenance of relevant documentation
- Close cooperation with other teams

Experience
- Operating Cisco ASA firewalls
- Operating Checkpoint firewalls
- Experience with Layer 2 switching technologies (focus on Cisco switching platforms, incl Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst 2k, Cisco Catalyst 3k)
- Implementing and operating network monitoring solutions
- Documentation skills
- Extensive knowledge in the use of network diagnostic tools
- Distinct sense of responsibility and service and high readiness for action
- Flexible, team-oriented personality and independence
- Careful, structured and goal-oriented way of working
- Willingness to work outside normal working hours on a case-by-case basis

Gehalt: 4.500,00€ - 6.200,00€ pro Monat
