VAT Accountant

Type: Hybrid/Full-Time
Level: Mid-Senior
**You will make an impact in the following way**:
- Ensuring VAT compliance for the German Belden Group companies in collaboration with the accounting team
- Monitoring VAT-related processes to guarantee full compliance with tax regulations
- Timely and accurate preparation and submission of accounting-related reports to various authorities, especially VAT returns and recapitulative statements
- Independent evaluation of VAT-related business transactions
- Participation in the development of a tax-specific control matrix as part of our internal control system
- Involvement in the creation and implementation of a tax compliance system
- Assisting in the preparation of annual financial statements according to HGB for German entities
- Acting as a key contact for accounting and VAT issues, liaising with supervisors, departments, auditors, tax advisors, and authorities, including preparing and providing financial data and reports
- Assuming responsibility for or supporting VAT and accounting-related process improvements and projects
**What you will bring**:
- Education - Completed degree in economics and/or additional qualification as a certified accountant
- Experience - More than 5 years of professional experience in the field, preferably in an international environment
- Knowledge & tools - In-depth knowledge of accounting according to HGB (German Commercial Code), strong expertise in VAT regulations, advanced SAP skills and proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
- Personality - Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and motivation to drive change
- Language proficiency - Fluent in German and English
