Information System Security Officer

As the SMX ISSM, you will be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate operational security posture, system accreditation, and configuration management is maintained. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert on the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process which is implemented throughout the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), as well as coordinate with the appropriate Authorizing Official (AO) to attain proper Authorities to Operate (ATO) for the use of hardware/software on information system associated with the ARIES Task Order. Additional duties require reporting to USAFRICOM J2-ISR to diagnose, troubleshoot and assist in the resolution of communications outages and network status pertaining to aerial ISR capabilities operated by SMX as Prime to the ARIES contract.
This full-time role is in Stuttgart, Germany with occasional travel to Africa as needed.
**This position requires a DoD Top Secret SCI clearance which requires US citizenship for work on a DoD contract.**
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained
- Serve as the principal advisor on the RMF process
- Implement and monitor Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
- Assist in the development of the security policies and procedures and ensures compliance with those policies and procedures
- Conducts patching and remediation
- Initiate workflows; create and update applicable artifacts in eMASS
- Develop and oversee operational IS security implementation policy and guidelines
- Maintain system accreditation and provides technological responses that prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats; conduct research and analysis of actionable cyber threats requiring a rapid response
**Required Skills & Experience**
- Required Clearance: TS/SCI
- Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated to operate effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment and complete projects with mínimal oversight
- Demonstrate effective organizational skills Strong written and oral communication skills
- Security + certification
- Education:
- A bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- An associate degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
- 11 years of recent specialized experience
**Desired Skills & Experience**
- Experience supporting Special Operation Forces (SOF)
