**Role Purpose**:
We are seeking an experienced DaF/DaZ Teacher with a passion for teaching German as a foreign or second language. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, interactive, and communicative German lessons that cater to a variety of levels (A1-C1). You will help students enhance their language skills, fostering a positive and motivating learning environment. You will also be involved in developing teaching materials, evaluating student progress, and occasionally participating in social programme activities.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Plan and deliver effective, engaging and enjoyable language lessons.
- Assess student work in line with the course objectives to ensure all learning outcomes are met.
- Develop, update, and enhance course materials.
- Use diverse teaching methods and materials to engage students in learning.
- Conduct regular student evaluation, progress meetings, and tutorials.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings, sharing insights and developing productive working relationships.
- Occasionally participate in the social programme, which may include leading cultural activities, excursions, and conversation clubs.
- Provide pastoral care and support to ensure students’ mental and physical wellbeing.

**Curriculum and Material Development**:

- Assist in the initial setup of the school, contributing to the development and adaptation of curriculum tailored to student needs.
- Create and refine teaching materials, ensuring alignment with course objectives and student proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve and innovate teaching resources.
- Support the implementation of digital and classroom technology to enhance the learning experience.

**Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities**:

- Promote safeguarding and work with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.
- Provide emotional and pastoral support to students, ensuring their wellbeing.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively with the support of the academic management team.
- Be aware of prevent duty and report any concerns as needed.
- Familiarise yourself with all relevant EP policies, including safeguarding and attendance policies.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- University Degree in German Studies, Linguistics, or a related field; DaF/DaZ certification essential.
- Native or near-native proficiency level in German (C2 level).
- Experience teaching German as a foreign or second language, preferably in a classroom setting.
- Strong organisational and material development skills, with experience in curriculum development.
- Proficiency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
- Understanding of German culture and intercultural competence.
- The right to work and live in Germany.

**Desirable Skills and Experience**:

- Familiarity with classroom technology and digital teaching resources.
