We seek to fill the position of
**Postdoctoral Researcher - International Human Rights Law (f/m/div)**
full-time (40 hours per week).
Your tasks:
- Develop and deliver, in close collaboration with Professor Çalı, the Principal Investigator of the DFG Grant ‘Deep Impact through Soft Jurisprudence? The Contribution of United Nations Treaty Body Case Law to the Development of International Human Rights Law’ a workplan for individual and collective research outputs to meet the DFG research grant aims for the duration of the contract;
- Engage in advanced legal research at a post-doctoral level on leading cases in UN human rights law using doctrinal comparative legal methods
- Contribute to the joint publications of the DFG research and also publish individually within the scope of the grant.
- Support the organisation of and participate in various DFG workshops and dissemination activities
- Support the development of a blog on UN human rights case law
- In conjunction with the PI, support the other research team members
- Participate in and present research at internal and external workshops, conferences, and other events;
- Actively contribute to the academic life of the Centre for Fundamental Rights
Your profile:
- PhD (or equivalent) in international law, and an excellent potential for academic achievement.
- Excellent knowledge of international human rights law treaties and institutions, comprised of UN human rights treaties as well as regional human rights treaties and institutions.
- Excellent demonstrable skills in doctrinal comparative case law analysis
- Keen interest in UN human rights treaties and the case of law the UN human rights treaty bodies
- Keen intertest in comparative legal methods
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
