Service Technician

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTION**:
Testing, trouble shooting, calibration and set-up of instruments; servicing and repairing assemblies that are returned to the European Service Center; provide support for related technical questions, service and training; provide customer/distributor technical service and support. Assist in projects with technical knowledge.

**EDUCATION**:
State Certified Engineer (staatl. geprüfter Elektrotechniker) or equivalent.

**EXPERIENCE**:
TECHNICAL
- Evidence that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job functions listed below.

INSTRUMENTATION AND SOFTWARE
- Demonstrated ability to understand and interpret schematics, component datasheets, test results and other electronic information and documentation.
- Use of electronic test equipment such as volt-ohm meters, oscilloscopes, etc
- General working knowledge of computers and software including Windows, MS Office. Knowledge in LabView and/or Python programming language is preferred, but not required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
- Fluency in German, both oral and written together with a good knowledge of English is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Enjoys and works well with people.

SPECIFIC
- Perform factory calibration on CO2/H2O/CH4 gas analyzer and light sensors.
- Repairing customer's instruments. Provide cost estimates and turn-around time estimates.
- Answering customer's questions.
- Confer with LI-COR personnel to resolve technical and construction difficulties and checkout procedures
- Maintain service, test and calibration records.
- Maintain Calibration Software for the European Calibration Facility.
- Advise LI-COR personnel on technical matters unrelated to any specific instrument.
