The Centre for East Asian Studies at the University of Heidelberg is seeking to fill the position of a

**Chinese Language Lecturer (f/m/d)**
100%

starting as soon as possible. The position is initially limited until 30th of September 2029.

**Your tasks**:

- The focus of the position is on teaching spoken and written Chinese (traditional and simplified characters), including the use of multimedia teaching methods.
- We are seeking an individual who is interested in contributing to the design of new multimedia teaching formats and the development of language teaching materials and tools.
- Teaching experience in the didactics of Chinese as a foreign language (as part of the teacher training programme in Chinese Studies) and teaching experience in Chinese dialects (e. g. Taiwanese and Cantonese) is also desirable.
- Experience with third-party funding in the field of language teaching and relevant publications in this area are welcomed.

**Your profile**:

- A fair knowledge of English is expected. Translation skills (Chinese-German, German-Chinese) are also required.
- Active participation in the institute′s tasks and activities is expected.
