As our **Team Lead Global Payroll **(M/F/d), you will be part of the People & Workplace Team and report to our Head of People Operations. You will be also the owner of our all our internal payroll process, an operation for +1,600 employees, distributed in 5 countries (Ireland, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, and UK) at, plus any future location. Furthermore, you will be the team lead of 4 full time employees (distributed in Germany and Spain). Your Responsibilities Will Include: - You will lead the Internal Payroll strategy for all Personio (globally) and be responsible for the full-cycle payroll operation involving more than 1600 employees globally distributed (Spain, Germany, Ireland, Netherlands, and UK). This includes Payroll Preparation and Payroll calculation, and final approvals, and management of external and internal partners addressing the different parts of our internal Payroll cycle. You will find areas of improvements within our processes to increase the level of automation, or efficiency. - You will lead the responsible HR team that address core all questions and inquiries around our internal payroll (from both, employees and internal stakeholders). - You will manage all relationship with existing (of future) Payroll partners and consultants. - Become the go-to person for peers and external stakeholders in terms of Payroll and its audits. - Implementing and integrating new benefits in the Payroll processing. - You will work closely with HR teams, Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and legal teams to facilitate dependencies, looking for process improvement and process excellence. - Lead and help to develop our Payroll team to keep excelling in their job while empowering them to act independently within their assigned area of responsibility. - Continuously coordinate the needs of the employees/stakeholder in alignment with the legal requirements for payroll. - Operationally support your team with best practices, process improvements, general alignment, and Payroll expertise. - Qualify the best criteria for our business/employees in regard to Payroll related topics. - Constantly expand your and your team payroll knowledge and keep up to date on legislative changes. **What you need to succeed**: - You have successfully completed your business studies with a focus on accounting, controlling, finance or HR related studies - At least 3 years of operational experience in Global Payroll Operations and responsibility for leading payroll preparation for international companies (highly desired experience with Germany, and at least one of our other locations—Spain, Ireland, UK, or Netherlands) - You have experience setting global payroll strategy, SLAs, OKRs, and main focus areas to deliver accurate and reliable Payroll for internal employees - At least 2 years of people management experience, ideally in globally distributed teams (for example managing feedback sessions, 1:1s, performance evaluations, professional development, team engagement) - Experience managing key internal senior stakeholders and aligning with other Finance and accounting departments to smooth and improve the operation of Payroll and its dependencies (controlling, accounting, sales commissions calculations, etc.) - You have significant experience managing external Payroll partners, this means, aligning service level agreements for tax and payroll experts, taking corrective action when necessary, and assess efficiency of their service from a cost but also operation perspective - You have experience shaping technology to set up Payroll and employee's data while customizing HRMs to become the main "source of truth" for HR. Experience using Personio HRMS is a big plus. - You are familiar with questions and processes relating to payroll, commission, compensation, benefits, overall taxation, and/or HR topics and can provide recommendations on how to implement HR programs from a Payroll perspective - Experience in shadow payroll is a big plus, as well as experience setting-up new office locations from a Payroll perspective - You are very customer-oriented and are looking for ways to improve processes and procedures while drive employees to an outstanding experience - You have a very diligent work style
