The **Project Buyer** is responsible for selecting and establishing vendor relationships and obtaining the desired value as well as defining and implementing strategy and process changes that improve turnaround times for optimal procurement of goods and services. Responsible for logistics planning and forecasting needs for products and services as well as distribution plans.

This position is part of the Global Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Team - Hardware Solutions and will be located onsite in Dreieich or Bad Kreuznach, Germany.

**In this role, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Provide support to the Marine BU Commercial and Application engineers team in the Europe Region with on-time delivery and on-budget execution of projects as well as procurement activities for the after-market business (Service & Spares).
- Develop a local supply base and the appropriate relationship with the suppliers that support the overall goals of the business and ensure that all purchasing-related activities are carried out in accordance with PALL purchasing policies and procedures.
- Prepare commercial bid tabulations, conduct commercial negotiation and conclude on techno commercial requirements and ensure materials are purchased at or below the budget / standard cost to drive material savings and enhance the as booked gross margins on our projects.
- Teaming up with Project Managers and Project Engineers on awarded projects and executing the projects. Improve working capital by extending payment terms and procuring materials on time to meet project requirements.
- Maintain existing vendor relationship and initiate potential new vendor relationship Continuously improve supplier performance and relationships through a documented and quantitative Supplier Evaluation Program Be the principal contact for all commercial and contractual matters.

**The essential requirements of the job include**:

- Experience 3 - 5 Years in Procurement
- Strong technical background preferable system or solution business
- Experience in supplier relationship management and Strong Negotiation Skills
- Experienced user of ERP Systems, Preferable SAP
- Germany speaking and writing fluently

**It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in**:

- Preferably a Mechanical / Production / Process /Electrical Engineer with experience in handling procurement activities for at least 3 to 5 years.
- Experience with continuous improvement in the manufacturing industry.
- Have a good understanding on the Marine, Aerospace and Microelectronics industry.
