Open-ended Contract period Full-time (18 LVS) Scope W2 + benefits Salary 01.09.2026 Start Your tasks As a professor on the Cultural Work degree program, you will be responsible for teaching, research, development and academic self-administration. We are primarily looking for cultural sociologists with a focus on the analysis of cultural and social change processes, understood - from a cultural-historical, cultural-theoretical, and cultural-political perspective, - with a view to the social construction of cultural practices, - taking into account the tense relationship between urbanity and regionality and - with a focus on the examination of cultural heritage in the past, present and future. Your qualifications - You fulfill the legal requirements for employment according to - 43 (1) points 1 to 3 and 4b of the Brandenburg Higher Education Act (BbgHG). - You have completed a university degree in the disciplines of cultural sociology, cultural studies or cultural anthropology/European ethnology. - Your past work experience is characterized by a distinguished professional practice in the context of arts management and cultural work, and you can establish a high level of practical relevance in the teaching of the degree program and initiate relevant projects in research. - You will have a sound knowledge of various historical and contemporary approaches and theories relevant to the teaching field as well as proven methodological skills in empirical social and cultural research.
