The Berlin outbound logistics team is responsible for ensuring that when vehicles roll-out of the production line they are immediately loaded onto trucks to their end destination. In this role, you will be part of a hands-on and dynamic team responsible for the operations after the factory gate. You are a skilled operator, team player, exceptional problem solver and able to work in fast changing environment. This role is part of the outbound logistics team for Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg & reports to the Outbound Logistics Manager.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure a steady and predictable flow of vehicles from factory gate to loading lane and then truck to enable a quick departure of all shipments in accordance to the distribution plan
- Operational & tactical responsibility for planning and control of shipments for finished vehicles
- Creation of CMR documents and deviation management
- Handle information requests from truck drivers and troubleshoot any arising issues preventing shipments and provide upwards feedback to our truck dispatching analysts
- Execute vehicle routing corrections to correct for plan variability such as those from production and truck arrivals
- Maintain an understanding of the key distribution priorities and identify and report potential deviations to plan
- Provide clear communication and coordination to all driving crews for a timely and smooth execution of all vehicle movements
- Operate our Transport Management System (TMS) ensuring all information is correctly updated at all times and all procedures are correctly followed
- Administrative tasks around transportation such as for example, providing legally required documentation, resolve accounting issues, etc.
- Actively collaborate with our internal trucking fleet manager, our outbound team and our central planning teams to ensure there is close alignment of goals and a fast flow of information
What You’ll Bring
- Good communication skills in German &/or English - other eastern European languages (e.g. Polish, Lithuanian, Russian) a plus
- Knowledge of Word and Excel
- Logistics background preferred within a carrier / automotive or manufacturing company
- Understanding of road transport rules and regulation
- Ability to work in an international, dynamic team in a high pace environment
- Driving License
- Ability to work in shifts and requires occasional weekend and evenings work on a scheduled basis
