**Application Scientist for Global Application Meat & Prepared Foods**
For our department Global Application Meat & Prepared Foods in Pohlheim (Germany, close to Gießen) we are looking for an “Application Scientist” with a strong background in food science in the field of meat and meat products.

In our area we are 19 skilled colleagues working in an inspiring and positive atmosphere. We have state of the art lab facilities and a well-equipped meat pilot plant being the global center of excellence for Meat & Prepared Foods in Chr. Hansen.

**Your role**
As an Application Scientist in Global Application Meat & Prepared Foods you contribute to innovation projects as well as customer support. You will be responsible for handling customer requests, setting the framework for analysis and trials, evaluating and presenting results to various stakeholders. Furthermore, you will be part of projects focusing on competence and new product development.
In your daily work you will have a close collaboration with the team of Global Application Meat & Prepared Foods, the global R&D organization of Chr. Hansen, our Sales and Commercial Development people and the local team of Global Operations. Based in Pohlheim, you will report to the Manager Science Support of Global Application Meat & Prepared Foods.

**Your main tasks**
- Technical lead and project lead for customer related activities
- Contribute to development of new products and to the innovation pipeline
- Internal and external expert on food cultures and food fermentation
- give clear recommendations to stakeholders in Sales, Commercial Development, R&D and Global Operations
- Set-up of experimental work and work together with the technicians to ensure correct execution of the experimental work
- Data analysis and reporting of results generated by technicians
- Maintain a strong internal and external network in the field
- You are part of multi-disciplinary teams supporting new product and competence development projects

**Your personal profile**
- As a minimum you hold a master’s degree in food science, food microbiology, biology, or equivalent education.
- Experience in working in a BSL-2 lab would be valuable
- At least 2 years working experience, preferably in a food company
- Knowledge about food sensory and sensory analysis would be beneficial
- Excellent working knowledge and experience in handling of food-related microorganisms
- Passionate about food, food preservation, and innovation
- Project leadership skills: track record of delivering complicated objectives through others
- Customer focused and solution-oriented mindset
- Capable of building trusted relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Creative, pragmatic, and can-do mentality with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and proactive approach but strong team-player skills
