While we are proud of our current products, we see a huge opportunity to improve the flavor profile even further."_ We are vly - a Berlin-based FoodTech startup. We exist to right the wrongs in the food industry and we do that by creating healthy, plant-based products that make people vly, not sugar-high. After years of R&D, we launched milk alternatives based on pea protein. They not only contain only 1/3 of the sugar content of oat milk but they also won best product of the year in 2022 and have been sold 15 million times. Further, we've created one of the - if not THE - healthiest yogurts on the market and continue to grow with our healthy, everyday dairy alternatives. **To make our vision a reality, we need you as a Fermentation Technologist (f/m/x)** You will work on commercial as well as proprietary strains and processes to make plant proteins taste better. For instance reducing beany, grassy, and bitter off-notes in pulse proteins will be one of the goals for enabling the next generation of plant-based yogurts & quarks. **Your Role**: - Actively guide the commercialization of fermentation-related research projects (e.g. new cultures). - Develop fermented products such as Quark, Skyr, Yoghurt, Cream Cheese. - Run research projects and write research grants. - Be part of the vly R&D team and shape the future of our fast-growing FoodTech startup. **Your Benefits**: - Purpose - it's an important fight to change the food industry for the better and your work will impact the change of our food system. - A fascinating industry - dairy touches almost every household, oat milk & blood sugar are everywhere on socials and the importance of health is ever-growing. - Team - we've got a unique group of people that is not only talented and super driven but also creative & fun. - Public transport ticket, equipment, coaching, team events, and two team off-site events per year. - A true vly subscription - as much as you can drink. - 2-5 years of fermentation-related work experience, ideally working on starter cultures or fermented (plant-based) dairy products - Master or Ph.D. in biotechnology, microbiology, or equivalent - Bonus: Previous experience and excitement about working in a fast-moving startup with all the opportunities and challenges. - Bonus: You are fluent in the German language.
