Communication Specialist

As a **Communication Specialist & Press Officer for Germany**, you contribute to added customer value, a strong brand and increased fashion perception by ensuring high quality Media Relations and PR & Communications activities, both internally and externally. You are a key player in protecting & balancing the narrative of the brand. You collaborate closely with the other teams in the Customer Activation Team.

**Your main responsibilities include**:

- Build trust & develop H&M’s local general media picture together with the Regional Communication Specialists and Communication Specialist & Press Officer Lead and proactively pitch news from H&M in selected focus areas.
- Manage local reactive & proactive media relations (press telephone and mail) and secure that the global communications and media policies are being followed locally.
- Collaborate with Communications Specialists & Press officers within your Region even across country borders
- Act as advisor on local communication issues within areas such as expansion, innovation, Sustainability and employer branding.
- Act as local spokesperson in selected topics together with the Regional Communications Specialists or Communication Specialist & Press Officer Lead
- Manage the local edition of H&Ms’ internal communication channels, including publish global and regional content, create local news and distribute H&M news
- Responsible for securing the quality and tone of voice in all translations of global material used in the internal communication channels
- Act as a brand ambassador for H&M and identify, monitor, interact and develop a network with current and up-coming journalists and opinion leaders in your market and work proactively (including attending relevant events)
- Follow up and report on KPIs and objectives connected to project responsibility, showing the connection to added customer value and the business when possible
- If needed, support on Fashion PR and Influencer Relation topics

**Qualifications**
As a **Communication Specialist and Press Officer for Germany**, you have strong business & brand focus and are insight and data driven, with proven ability to drive results and work towards goals. Additionally, you have a proven track record of creating results, both by strengthening and protecting a brand with PR & Communications, proactively and reactively. With your passion and knowledge in PR & communications, you are an excellent relationship builder, and you find innovative ways to engage our customers and stakeholders. Finally, you are able to bring others onboard through inspiring, clear and including communication where you lead with an ambitious and pragmatic approach.

**What you need to succeed**:

- A formal education within Communication &/or Marketing is meriting, if not, 3-5 years’ experience from similar positions and/or within PR/Communications
- You have a strategic mindset and strong planning and prioritizing skills
- Strong project management skills where you optimize and make projects come alive through great execution
- You have excellent communication skills, including written and spoken English. German on a native level is a given
- You are an excellent relationship builder
- Fluent in Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint and Excel
- Experience in media relations. Meriting if within Germany
- Strategic experience in Corporate & Crisis Comms and interest in Fashion PR
- Strategic experience in Internal Comms & preferably Employer Branding
- Proven track results in building &/or protecting the brand through PR, media relations
- Meriting if experience from content/video editing
- Experience in high level media analysis

This is a **fulltime** position, starting **as soon as possible**, based in **Hamburg** or **Berlin**.
