Junior Financial Accountant (M/F/d)* with focus on Solvency II **Company** Munich Re **Location** Munich, Germany Solvency II is a European Union directive that consists of three pillars: Pillar 1: Solvency Capital Requirement; Pillar 2: Risk Management; and Pillar 3: Disclosure Requirements to increase transparency. Within the department, which is part of the Reinsurance Accounting (RIA), we focus on Pillar 3 by capturing and reporting the key economic results of the previous financial year, the outlook and the current solvency position of the company. Your role will focus on the independent creation of electronic reporting forms ("Quantitative Reporting Templates"), which provide detailed information on the current development of the financial and asset situation, in particular on solvency capital requirements. You will gain an in-depth insight into different business areas, such as our cyber business. Through your technical expertise, you will play a proactive role in improving existing internal processes and utilize tools to facilitate internal tasks and increase the quality of data/reports. Join our team and contribute to the success of the digital transformation and the delivery of the Solvency II financial statements. **Your Job** - Orchestrate and deliver the Solvency II closing and reporting process in close cooperation with Accounting, Central Reserving and FRR colleagues in Munich and the International Organization - Ensure that ad hoc reports/requests are completed in an accurate, professional and timely manner - Drive simplification and enhancements/best practices after first implementation of the ITS Amendments in SII/Q4 annual reporting - Use your technical know-how to identify, develop and implement digital use cases to simplify/automate internal reporting processes, for example using R scripts, SQL queries or DFP - Contribute to a diverse team of highly motivated experts who value open communication and encourage new ideas - Ensure consistent data quality and perform analyses and controls as a basis for internal and external reporting **Your Profile** - Excellent university degree, preferably in Business Informatics, Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Computer Science or Business/Management with IT modules - Knowledge of R, SQL, DFP, PowerBI, PowerApps or PowerAutomate - Experience of working in an insurance or reinsurance company is an advantage - Experience in financial reporting is a plus - Proficiency in non-life and/or life reinsurance accounting, FS-RI and EDWH reporting is a plus - Good understanding of data processing, data analytics and data management - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability and drive to work independently and take responsibility - Strong team player with the ability to break down complex topics and communicate clearly and effectively - Very good written and spoken English **About us** As the world's leading reinsurance company with more than 11,000 employees at over 50 locations, Munich Re introduces a paradigm shift in the way you think about insurance.
