For this purpose, methods from behavioural and psychophysical research combined with neuroimaging (EEG, MEG, fMRI) and mathematical modelling are used. The particular focus of the research group lies on the mechanisms underlying hearing and multisensory perception. The working group is part of the Faculty of Biology and the Center for Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) and collaborates with many international partners. - The specific position is part of a DFG-funded project that investigates the rhythmicity of auditory perception using psychophysics, eye tracking and computer modelling. The planned studies have the aim to - foster our understanding of hearing as an active process and to better elucidate the roles of covert and overt attention as well as vigilance. The knowledge gained here will be important for our understanding of the basic mechanisms underlying perception in general, and those underlying hearing and associated disorders in particular.- Your Tasks - **Research tasks (90 %)**: - planning, design and programming of psychophysical experiments on the auditory system in relevant software (e. g. Matlab) - collection of behavioural data - statistical analysis of data in relevant software (e. g. Matlab) - preparation of scientific publications - presentation of results at international conferences - preparing literature reviews **Teaching taks (5 %)**: - supervision of Bachelor-/Master as well as student projects **Other tasks (5 %)**: - administration and maintenance of research environment Employment is conductive to scientific qualification.
