The Hertie School in Berlin prepares exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers master’s programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. Its extensive international network positions it as an ambassador of good governance, characterised by public debate and engagement. The school was founded in 2003 by the Hertie Foundation, which remains its major funder. The Hertie School is accredited by the state and the German Science Council.

The Hertie School is seeking to fill the following position:
**Associate Events (f/m/d)**

on a full-time (40hours/week) basis.

The contract shall commence as soon as possible and is initially limited for two years, with the option of an unlimited contract afterwards.

Your tasks:

- Work closely with internal and external partners to conceptualise, organise and implement events in various formats on our Berlin campus and online
- Maintain and update our contact database in line with GDPR guidelines and use our database to generate targeted mailing/invitation lists
- Identify potential speakers; expand the Hertie events network and relations with partners and potential speakers
- Provide advice, training, and support for faculty, our Centres of Competence and Hertie School department teams on event management/organisation
- Coordinate documentation for digital media and other publications of our events
- Maintain a budget and handling invoicing for event section

Your profile:

- University degree or relevant education preparing for the job
- At least 2 years professional experience in event development and management or project management, ideally in a political, academic or civil society environment
- Very good command of English and German (professional proficiency is required)
- Strong interest in social sciences, politics and economics
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work and be flexible and organised under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and knack for problem-solving
- Customer-service orientation
- Creative, conceptual thinker who is a self-starter and team player
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as required
