UP42 is changing the way geospatial data is accessed and analyzed. The developer platform and marketplace bring together multiple sources of data such as satellite imagery, weather data, and more—with algorithms to identify objects, detect change, and find patterns. Industry leaders use UP42 to inform business decisions and build scalable customer solutions.

We are looking for a **Working Student - Technical Writer (M/F/x)** to join the UP42 team in Berlin.

**Here is a summary of what you could contribute to**:

- Work with our documentation platform:

- Create step-by-step user tutorials to support new console feature releases.
- Collaborate with SMEs to gather information.
- Describe complex geospatial topics using clear, concise language.
- Add specifications of new geospatial products and independently research to identify and fill in any missing details.
- Work with the API reference:

- Simulate API user workflows to describe processes for new endpoints and write API tutorials.
- Test API requests to check the reference against the schema and proofread endpoints’ descriptions, parameters, and examples.
- Work with the SDK documentation:

- Simulate SDK user workflows to describe processes for new functions and write SDK tutorials in the form of Jupyter notebooks.
- Test SDK requests to check the reference against the schema and proofread functions’ descriptions, arguments, and examples.
- Work with our internal documentation:

- Contribute to and maintain an internal wiki.
- Organize information in the wiki to ensure easy accessibility and navigation for internal teams.

**Here is a good summary of what we are looking for**:

- Excellent English writing skills (at least C1 level)
- Knowledge of API, Git, and Markdown
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work 20 hours per week during a semester and up to 40 hours per week during a semester break
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a qualifying German university and able to commit to employment for a minimum duration of 12 months, ensuring that ongoing studies will not conclude before the specified timeframe

**Bonus points if you bring**:

- Comparable experience in creating technical documentation in your current or previous roles
- Experience with Python, Swagger, Jupyter notebooks
- Passion for a simple style of technical writing
- Working knowledge or background in geospatial science (remote sensing, GIS, GPS)
