**THE POSITION**:
Within our Development Biologicals organization, we fill our pipeline with more and more complex biotherapeutics including different scaffolds and fusion proteins which are challenging to be characterized in-depth with a “normal” analytical toolbox.
In your new position you will actively contribute to increase our knowledge of these molecules with respect to structure and critical quality attributes by evaluation and implementation of innovative mass spectrometric methodologies. In close cooperation with research, cell line
- and up-/downstream development you will help to improve new scaffolds on a molecular basis to bring high-quality and highly stable novel complex proteins successful to the patients.
This position is limited for two years.
**Tasks & responsibilities**:
- In your new role, you will be responsible for mass spectrometric based method development to analyze novel complex therapeutic (fusion) proteins.
- Also, you will evaluate and implement innovative mass spectrometric technologies with respect to their suitability for in-depth characterization of complex formats on peptide, subunit and intact level.
- In addition, you will evaluate orthogonal methods and you will cooperate with other interfaces to gain an analytical picture of these formats with subsequent set-up of structure function relationships.
- Thanks to your expertise, you will benefit Cell Line, Upstream
- and Downstream Development with your observations and analytical data, improving therefore our diverse portfolio.
- The independent literature research is also part of your responsibility.
***Requirements**:
- PhD in molecular biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or comparable qualification with focus on mass spectrometry
- Experience in the field of mass spectrometric based analysis of proteins as well with instruments such as Orbitrap and q-ToF
- Expertise in mass spectrometric data evaluation and interpretation using adequate software solutions
- Knowledge and interest in protein biochemistry, structural biology, and analytical method development
- Experience in analytical characterization of complex biotherapeutics
- Strong communication and teamwork skills paired with innovative thinking Very good English knowledge; German is desirable
