Head of Application Engineering

Tasks
We are looking for a Head of Application Engineering in the area of Market Europe, Application Engineering Europe at our location Lindau, Neu-Ulm, Ulm or Riemerling.

The Head of Application Engineering is the central point of contact for all technical items of the customer. With the functional connection to your peers in Application Europe, you are the primary driver (M/F/diverse) of all engineering activities of the customer. Your direct reporting team is responsible for the technical lead and system engineering activities, in the customer projects. Your tasks will be the following:
Driving and supervising the engineering activities of the customer projects and provides leadership to peer management

Leading the customer peer management team and the dedicated customer engineering management board

Supervising a team of experts in technical management and system engineering

Release director for Systems MLC, and Product MLC as well as for Customer Releases

Leading the series maintenance activities of the customer

Supporting the definition of technical needs of the customer and the marketing strategy of the customer account

Accompanying all customer quote activities, including technical content, timing and cost and the release of engineering effort to the customer

Key-Responsible interface to the customer on behalf of R&D ADAS and customer product owner

Representing the technical content and strategy of the customer activities inside the ADAS organization

Key role in developing and setting the product strategy for the customer

Coordinating management-escalations of the customer (internal & external) / first escalation level to customer representing all the disciplines at customers / first entry point independently of the problem

Fostering customer relationships at multiple levels within their organizations and ensuring a fruitful strategic business relationship with the customer and the mitigation of potential business continuity risks

Developing people’s capabilities and increasing their engagement and commitment to embrace and deliver on ambitious goals

**Qualifications**:
Academic degree in Engineering, Physics or similar qualification

Profound experience in automotive, especially in the ADAS environment

Multiple years of customer management experience in large scale projects

Multiple years of project management experience or responsible for the successful launch of at least one product in an international set-up

Profound experience in research and development and in product development

Profound experience in leading people and leading leaders

Business fluent English and German language skills (written and spoken)

International assignments or experience in working in an international team environment
