Join our finance team as a **General Ledger Accountant for European entities (m/w/d)** to handle monthly and annual closings for European entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and IFRS standards. The role involves tax calculations, VAT reporting, and supporting auditors during year-end closing. Proficiency in SAP FI/CO, strong organizational skills, and a positive team-oriented attitude are required. **Your tasks**: - Be responsible for the monthly and annual closing of several smaller entities within Europe on the local GAAP and IFRS levels, collaborating closely with the local finance team. - Take charge of monthly/yearly company tax calculation, statistical analysis, VAT, and intrastate reporting with accurate data and within set timelines. - Ensure accurate figures on local GAAP/HGB and IFRS levels and create all relevant postings for monthly and annual closing. - Plan and prepare accruals for closing and year-end. - Provide full support to auditors during year-end closing and hard close processes. - Prepare VAT and tax returns in coordination with the local tax advisor. - Act as a backup for peers in the General Ledger accounting department in cases of absence and high workload. - Suggest changes to internal department procedures for continuous improvement. - Organize and manage your workload in collaboration with team colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial reporting. - Take responsibility for separate components, such as general ledger accounts and IC reconciliations, and follow up when necessary. - Contribute to ongoing improvements in the Finance department, aligning with Accounting Services Europe. **Your profile**: - A degree in Finance. - Previous work experience in an international finance environment, preferably as a general ledger accountant responsible for closing tasks. - Strong knowledge of the tax environment. - Proficiency in SAP FI/CO, and familiarity with other modules is advantageous. - Fluent in English, and proficiency in other languages is a plus. - Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, BW, and Word. - Good organizational and workload management skills. - Ability to thrive in an international matrix environment, with a supportive attitude towards various countries, and a strong interest in investigating business transactions to improve performance and processes. - Precise, accurate, and reliable working style; a highly motivated, straightforward thinking, and performance-driven professional with a "can-do" attitude. - Team player with an open, positive attitude and respect for others, while embodying core behaviors such as customer focus, trust-building, and creating opportunities. **Your benefits**: - Diverse attractive social benefits - A pension plan that grows with you - A dedicated team and great colleagues - Regular professional and personal development opportunities - Flat hierarchies - Modern workplace in an exciting, dynamic environment - Company health management and much more.
