**_ Context:_**

IOM established the Global Data Institute to harness the power of its data for operations,
making meaning of global migration patterns, and providing foresight. The Global Data Institute
capitalizes on synergies between its two units the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) and the
Global Migration Data Analysis Center (GMDAC) and collaborates with a network of regional
data specialists to illuminate the global data story of human mobility.

Under overall supervision of the Global Coordinator for DTM, and the direct supervision of the
Senior Regional Project Manager (DTM REMAP) based in Berlin, Germany, the Data Analysis
and Reporting Officer (Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)) will be responsible for realizing
data consolidation, analysis and reporting under the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) DATA
project.

**_Core Functions / Responsibilities:_**

1. Provide technical inputs to be used for the development and implementation of the
methodological, operational and training aspects of the DTM Regional Evidence for Migration
and Policy (REMAP) project.

2. Draft and produce standard publishing materials and presentations, and various data
visualization formats including maps, statistics, online materials and info sheets.

3. Provide technical support related to data presentation needs on various written outputs (e.g.
papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.).

4. Draft, proof-read, assist with editing and format DTM output products including but not limited.

5. Produce donor reports including project summary reports, quarterly flash updates and annual
narrative reports.

6. Prepare preliminary multi-country analyses of DTM data under the DTM project.

7. Evaluate data and information gaps across all countries and propose adjustments to improve
ongoing data collection exercises to strengthen overall consolidation and compatibility of data
across countries under the DTM project.

9. Travel to field missions when necessary to support DTM project implementation.

**_ Required Qualifications and Experience:_**

**Education**
- Master’s degree in Migration Studies, Demography, Political or Social Science, Statistics,

International Relations or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two years
of relevant professional experience; or,
- University degree in the above fields with four years of relevant professional experience.

**Experience**
- Research experience in the field of population studies, human mobility, mixed migration, and

refugees/ internally displaced persons (IDPs) in developed and developing countries, including
field experience related to displacement and migration research.
- Experience in proof-reading and editing reports.
- Experience in DTM reporting.
- Experience in IOM liaison at global, regional and cross-regional level is an advantage.
- Practical field experience in domains related to relief interventions and humanitarian action

(including support to displaced populations and implementation of emergency and early
recovery activities), UN, and the cluster system, including Camp Coordination and Camp
Management (CCCM) is an advantage.
