Doctoral Researcher/PhD
The position is offered for a period of 4 years, if no former times of qualification must be considered. The starting date is the 1st October 2025. The position is part-time (65 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).
The position is located within the DFG funded Research Unit FOR 5757 and the project on ”Vowel reduction and vowel loss in German dialects - structural coherence and cognition” and “Sensitivity to reduced syllables in learners of L2 German and implications for grammatical learning” (PIs Ulrike Domahs and Christoph Gabriel).
**Tasks**:

- preparation and running of EEG experiments
- ability to write scripts for conducting experiments
- ability to analyse EEG data and perform statistical analyses
- presentation of scientific results at conferences and publication of results in international journals
- coordination of data collection
- willingness to conduct experiments in Italy, France, and Turkey

The position is limited to a time period deemed adequate for the completion of a doctoral degree. As part of the assigned duties, there will be ample opportunity to conduct the independent scientific research necessary for the completion of a doctorate. The limitation complies to - 2, 1 WissZeitVG.
**Profile**:

- MA-/MSc-degree or equivalent in Linguistics, Psychology, Cognitive Sciences or closely related disciplines
- knowledge of experimental software
- programming skills (R, Python, or Matlab), knowledge of statistics and statistics software (R)
- excellent language skills (written and spoken) in German and English
- knowledge of one of the languages Italian, French or Turkish is an advantage
- independent and thorough scientific way of working, high ability to work in a team, and high motivation

Disposition to own scientific qualification (e. g. a doctorate project in the area or neurolinguistics) is expected.
