Data Science Advisor

Overview:
- Blue Yonder is seeking a Data Scientist to support the presales function within a dynamic team to work with customers to position our capabilities to solve customers and prospects needs in the retail and supply chain domain and leverage machine learning as a competitive advantage.

Scope:

- This role will demonstrate and leverage in-depth knowledge on machine learning and Blue Yonder capabilities to provide thought leadership and expertise internally and to customers through sales presentations and proof of concepts.

What you’ll do:
- Manage and coach the team on the solution positioning to our customers and prospects validating that they drive business outcome and call out the Blue Yonder key differentiators.- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to create the account strategy, develop a solution blueprint, build a business case, and present the solution.- Collaborate extensively with a broad ecosystem within Blue Yonder, which includes all levels of the Sales organization, Product Development, Professional Services, Transformation Advisory, Business Development, as well as our Partner ecosystem- Conduct Proof of Value/Proof of Concept assessments (qualification)- Support all phases of data integration-
- Is able to prioritize topics and challenges concerning modeling and KPIs and if necessary, quickly reprioritize-
- Helps in understanding/choosing the right models and KPIs-
- Develop new tools and improve existing tools for POC/POVs-
- Reviewing RFP, POC and all other documents in need of a data science expertise- Interact with product management & product development regarding new releases and new functionality and act as the liaison to communicate to the rest of the team- Interact with customer success and support knowledge transfer in both directions, e.g. challenges faced in POCs, issues found in operation of customers- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations for internal use, management, and executive level audiences.- Understand the requirements, use cases and business processes and familiarize with exploratory industries to attain domain knowledge

What we are looking for:
- Creativity in finding solutions in complex environments- Strong analytical mindset, critical thinking and problem solving- Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with the team, customers, partners, and consultants.- Ability to work independently and be effective/proactive in a relatively unstructured environment.- Knowledge of business processes in Retail/Mfg.- Knowledge of business relevant metrics/KPIs in Retail/Mfg.- Domain knowledge to understand how the Blue Yonder solutions within the area of focus can be configured and delivered to better facilitate customer business processes- Advanced knowledge of Statistics, Probability, Linear Algebra and Calculus- Advanced knowledge in Data Science and Machine Learning skills like outlier handling, data imputation, bias, variance, cross validation, linear regression, logistic regression, random forest- Experienced in programming in Python, SQL- Good understanding of pandas, numpy, scikit-learn or other scientific libraries- Experience with cloud-based ecosystems - preferably, Microsoft Azure- Experience using visualization tools and libraries- Experienced in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions

Location
- Germany - travel required.
