Recreation Aid

**Summary**:
This position is located at Kaiserslautern, Germany at the ROB Physical Fitness Center/Kaiserslauten Functional Fitness Program.

**Clarification from the agency**:

**Duties**:

- Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
- Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts
- Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of employment**:

- Must be able to lift 45 lbs.
- Must be in possess of a valid driver's license
- Must be willing to work rotating schedules that include nights, weekends and holidays. Must work special events as needed.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
- Must possess the following within 6 months of employment: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service.

**Qualifications**:
Work experience which involved dealing with the general public.

1. Possess sound customer service, business management and marketing skills
2. Previous experience working in a civilian or military physical fitness facility with demonstrated understanding of fitness equipment usage and maintenance
4. Demonstrated communication, organization and planning skills
