**The FIS is looking for an**

Early Years Learning Assistant (One-to-One)

**Starting**:November 4, 2024**

**Employment Type**:Part-time position, 25 hours/week initially, rising to 32 hours/week from January 2025**

**Contract Type**:Until the end of the current school year with the possibility of extension**

**Responsibilities**:
The Learning Assistant (One-to-One) will provide individualised support to a 4-year-old student, ensuring their academic, social, emotional, and physical development. The assistant will work closely with the homeroom teacher and other school staff to implement the school's curriculum and philosophy.

Individualized Support:

- Provide one-on-one support to the designated 4-year-old student throughout the school day
- Assist with learning tasks across the curriculum
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to the student
- Facilitate social interactions and positive relationships with peers
- Assist with personal care needs as required

Curriculum Implementation:

- Adapt activities and materials to meet the individual needs of the student
- Assist with classroom activities and projects as needed

Communication and Collaboration:

- Maintain regular communication with the homeroom teacher and other relevant school staff
- Share observations and insights about the student's progress and challenges
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities

Student Well-being:

- Ensure the student's safety and well-being at all times
- Monitor the student's behavior and address any concerns with the homeroom teacher

Additional responsibilities:

- Accompany the student on field trips and outings
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Experience working with young children, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Valid, unrestricted work permit for Germany
